So, here I was convinced that David’s Crabapple Tree would not survive after being planted only a few days before we had our first freeze and snow. We didn’t even water it except for when it was planted.
Yesterday we had our Easter Egg Hunt at church and the Easter bunny made an appearance there. As you can see Brooke was not too sure about sitting in the Easter bunny’s lap.
I just thought I’d let you know that I am currently posting a series, over at Mommy’s Idea Book, on learning to use coupons effectively.
David got another 100% report card this nine weeks and got a ribbon at his award’s ceremony today at school.
Brooke is obsessed with Princesses and pretends to be one at some point every day. Tonight she got all decked out in a pretty little dress her Aunt Janna and Uncle Richard got her for Christmas.
David got these funny glasses a while back at school. Well, the other night Brooke came walking through the house with them on and she looked so cute. Needless to say, we all had to try them on.
Too bad me and Chuck aren’t nearly as cute in the glasses as the kids are, but this was a family funny time. You can check out the rest of the pics here…
Yes, we’re sporting yet another redesign. Our old site design was getting a little tired, so we’ve decided to update it and enable a few new features like comments. We’re not ready for everything, and we’ll be trying to clean up a few of the post so they’ll meet our new format so be patient.

Of course, what’s a birthday without the presents. Right? Well, as you can see, he got M & M’s (Yeah, more chocolate. Are we NUTS?), Nerf darts, and Legos. In addition to these items, he also was the recipient of a HUGE container of Legos that Chuck had as a boy.
We actually had something ordered for him, but it still has not come in yet. As a matter of fact, I just got confirmation that it had been shipped from Hong Kong the day of his birthday. That being the case, it may be another couple of weeks before we actually get it.
Oh, you probably want to know what it is too. Well, it’s some kind of card that Chuck can save games to for David’s Gameboy Advance so he doesn’t have to carry around a whole bunch of game cartridges. It sounds great to me.
Ok…..now back to those sinfully delicious chocolate cupcakes. I absolutely love this picture of David blowing out the candles. I think it’s just so cool!

Is it possible that we could have a foot model amongst us? Every time the camera comes out, Brooke is adamant that I take a picture of her feet. Weird…I know!
I guess when she becomes that famous foot model one day, this picture might be worth something. Ha ha ha! 
If by chance she doesn’t make it as a foot model, she’s trying out a few full body poses. What do you think?

Yep. This one was a fire truck. It was a little more complicated than the drum David did last time, but with Daddy’s help, it was a success. Isn’t it cute? Well, I think so and he was awfully proud of it.
Later that afternoon, we got an unexpected surprise when my Grandparents stopped by for a little visit. I was able to snap a few photos of them and the kids while they were there.
If only, I could get both kids to actually look at the camera and smile at the same time. 
We decided to take him some place special to try to help get his mind off all the other fun things he is going to be missing. It worked out great. We ended up being almost the only people there, since it was a Thursday night, so it wasn’t crowded or anything. David had a great time playing the games and winning lots of tickets.
Although I missed little Brooke, it was nice to spend some good quality time with just David, and I know he enjoyed getting all the attention for himself too.
Recycled Crayons
What are recycled crayons, you ask? Well, the other day I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Domestic Cents, and she had a post for making Homemade Crayons. It looked like a fun and easy project to do with David and Brooke.
So, here’s what we did…
Step One:
Collect all broken crayon pieces from the bottom of the crayon box and remove their paper.
Step Two:
Line a muffin pan with paper liners and put crayon pieces in each cup.
Step Three:
Place the muffin pan in the oven at 300˚ for about 10 minutes.
Step Four:
Let them cool for about 20 minutes and remove paper liners.
Step Five:
Duh!! Give them to the kids and let them color away.
Now, wasn’t that easy (and fun)?
