So, here I was convinced that David’s Crabapple Tree would not survive after being planted only a few days before we had our first freeze and snow. We didn’t even water it except for when it was planted.
Yesterday we had our Easter Egg Hunt at church and the Easter bunny made an appearance there. As you can see Brooke was not too sure about sitting in the Easter bunny’s lap.
I just thought I’d let you know that I am currently posting a series, over at Mommy’s Idea Book, on learning to use coupons effectively.
David got another 100% report card this nine weeks and got a ribbon at his award’s ceremony today at school.
Brooke is obsessed with Princesses and pretends to be one at some point every day. Tonight she got all decked out in a pretty little dress her Aunt Janna and Uncle Richard got her for Christmas.
Food World & Piggly Wiggly 1/28/10

Cash Paid Out – $5.61
Okay, so getting all this stuff was unexpected. I initially went to Food World only to get the Mueller’s pasta, which is “buy one, get one free” this week, and ground chuck at $1.79/lb.
Thankfully though I took my coupon binder in with me. I remembered that I needed some yeast and since it was on sale and I had a 40 cent coupon and Food World doubles coupons, I decided to grab it while I was there.
Then as I was walking past the paper products aisle I noticed the Marcal Small Steps packages. I’ve had awesome coupons for “FREE or up to $1 off” for this brand items, but have had problems finding this stuff at low enough prices to be worth trying it out. Well, this were on sale for $1 each. Can you say FREE? I sure did.
Oh but that wasn’t all, I turned around and saw that the Chinet salad bowls, on sale for two for $5, had peelies attached to them for free Wishbone dressing when you purchase the package of bowls. I remembered that I had coupons for $2 off Chinet salad bowls. Voila!…2 packages of Chinet bowls and 2 bottles of Wishbone dressing for only $1 total.
At least that’s what it was suppose to be. I just noticed one of my $2 coupons missed getting scanned.
By the way, although not pictured, I did get a couple packages of the ground chuck too.
Piggly Wiggly
Cash Paid Out – $10.82
I had several coupons for 55 or 75 cents that were going to be expiring the 31st of this month, so since Piggly Wiggly doubles up to 90 cents I took them there to see what kinds of deals I could score.
I actually got some of these things for free…No Yolks, Mentos, McCormick Chili Powder. The rest of the items were pretty cheap too.
